You would think with my love of kingdom hearts, I would do an AU if it with Kai and Rin and the rest
however, as mentioned before with a thought involving Kachessa as a key blade wielder…. there’s no way it wouldn’t be painful.
I mean, consider Kai’s stuff. Consider how that would translate to a KH AU.

infinite ramblings
BOY this is gonna take a while to actually try getting this personal AU version of him together but
for now, just… some starting thoughts especially in knowing some cool fanons and stuff
1: Would keep the one pre-game-release idea of him potentially knowing the avatar character pre-Infinite (Gadget? idek if I’d just stick with him or go full self-indulgent and outright make an OC to fit that spot ahahah… though I guess Gadget is kinda blank as is anyway given but. Hm.)
2. might make that scar over his eye a bit more messed up, given how the song lyrics made it sound. Seen some good ones, and it’s kind of hilarious how Infinite talks about his ‘unsightly face’ when it’s…… hardly actually unsightly……..
3. Would keep the Jackal squad around, since they seem cool. Maybe they’d actually be pretty close-knit? Perhaps post-Infinite they’d try looking for him or something, assuming they’d still be alive and not killed off by Shadow or anything– hm.
4. No idea what his name would be aside from Infinite, though I feel Infinite isn’t his real name. I’m just terrible at naming to even try to think of one for him hahh,
obviously I’d also try to keep some of the traits shown… I wonder if the hating being called weak could come from needing to be strong in the face of– everything the world threw at him and his squad or somethin’, or some sort of thing that would instill that into him…
though as is with AU’s I’d probably just wind up changing up that whole thing and how he went to eggman and the phantom ruby in general since that was just Weak… there were theories going around of the phantom ruby being almost sentient, and perhaps he could of been groomed into thinking he needed it, or outright taken control of, or yeah a fit of feeling like he needed more power for whatever reason and then WHOOPS
clearly he’d still be a morally grey dude
If anyone has like thoughts or ideas to throw or headcanons and stuff I’d also love to hear them too, yes
Kai ramblings,
When I sometimes mention Kai doesn’t care about people aside from those they’re already close to, it’s… weird?
Because, it’s true. In the sense of, if people got physically hurt by something (whether or not it was something they did or not), but someone they care about weren’t, they— pretty much won’t really give a damn about the ones that got hurt. At least no one important got hurt.
But they would be a little more affected if seeing whoever they were close to was upset by it. Be it in general, or because whoever got hurt the person was close to but Kai wasn’t.
There’s also the fact that for a good while, first meeting someone on the island… usually ended up in Kai seeking amusement from them via messing with them/being a gd creep.
though if people are persistent(…or are stuck there) and try to ease up to them, it’s possible to break through that, since they can eventually start getting attachments and caring–
It goes about a little easier if Rin, or someone they’re close to, is already cool with the person though. They generally won’t creep/mess with the person then, too.
Also, it does entirely depend on how the person is. Also if people call them out on it.
As it is though, I suppose in more recent times they would likely be– trying to work on that too. The spring ball, for instance, was a chance for them to actually go out and be social and keep themself on check, without Rin being around– and that seemed to of gone well enough, too.
And as it is, I think this all probably wasn’t as bad pre-BR, but post-BR, especially directly after, it became More of a thing (especially with corruption, and also that corruption causing glitch mode to leak in and blend a little more in general)
Honestly, this all would probably go about as a progression easier if I could actually… be consistent………….. in updates…………… but oh well. Just something to consider if I ever actually try to clean things up as an actual story or something, I suppose. (as it is right now there’s– not actually any story set, just ideas to get out there and them answering questions asdfgfd)
kai’s full-in-glitch-mode hasn’t really appeared on the ask blog like really I’ve realized– at least not post-the last soft reboot
random ramble though, interesting thing with it is that it is still all them. just essentially a different/altered state of mind? while in it though they rather enjoy it, and think of it as the ‘real them’
out of it though they don’t actually like it. but as they are now it kinda blends more anyway so, whoops.
when it comes to androids, ‘healing’ probably usually isn’t possible
but I could imagine in some worlds depending on the type or how advanced it is, perhaps nanobots or something could do something similar?
i guess depending on how one would go about those, but.
I don’t think who was in who’s spots was really thought of for the Rook AU, aside from Rook being in Frisks spot, and Rin being Toriel/Asgore– -Ana did a few drabbles on it, it was p. cool
I just know that it was something like Kai realized they were getting worse, and somehow managed to grant some non-corruptive power to Rin so she could protect the rest of the inhabitants from them.
When Rook fell, Kai took the form of a flower (cat’s possible too, but seemed flower mainly)
offf course though in knowing who Rook’s father was since I assume before all of that happened Kachessa told them…. they’d wind up using it to kind of tempt Rook, since it’s likely the demon side of Rook would be reacting to the corruption in the area or somethin’
but I don’t think who everyone else would be was decided at all? Hmmm.
note: my memory is poor so I might be incorrect, but. I swear I remember it as such
Len being in Asgore’s spot for the ‘game time’ in the Mint AU was actually out of. Not having anyone to fill Asgors spot, since Kai ended up in Sans’s. Len was almost a slight joke suggestion, but then I ended up thinking of how that’d happen and, welp, there we go.
Rin being in Toriel’s space I think was before that? So that likely factored in too. Her going to the runes isn’t out of her being mad at Len though, but more worried and uncomfortable over the whole thing— and how the majority of Androids/Bots closer to New Home were on Len’s side in the usurping.
The ironic thing is Len’s personality became closer to Alexander’s in Hamilton, since the war to pre-’game’ ended up almost becoming a semi-Hamilton AU since me and Ariel got into Hamilton at the same time– or well, inspired is a better way to say it. Except the war wasn’t won. Oops.
Given though, Androids don’t fall as easily as Monsters could. They’re androids, and even though magic is still relevant in this and androids channeled magic better, they aren’t as fragile and wouldn’t fade to dust.
the ironic thing is also, comparatively, Kai surprisingly has pretty good self control given what they have to deal with… constantly
but I’m not sure how that’d really factor in if being in Will’s body, phase 3, that specific form of corruption
of course, even if without all that corruption suddenly, he had essentially been shaped into it, especially in how looonnngg it’d be going on
his current ‘himself’ would likely still not be…. good, and likely still not entirely like how he used to be beforehand
but it is technically an improvement
randomly feel like explaining those doodles a little more:
considering will’s actual body is that. weird. eye for an head shadow tendrils in a suit with claws
the more ‘human’ looking look, the phase ½ looking look like. is pretty much just completely a disguise/illusion type thing
so technically if Kai was switched into will’s ‘body’, they could make themself look…. close to themself as opposed to looking completely like Will
meanwhile with Kai’s body, Kai isn’t able to really shapeshift or illusion somethin without it looking like a version of them anyway, and it’d take more energy too for them, so Will in Kai’s body would just. Have to stick to the ‘normal’ Kai illusion and just still looking like Kai
kai’s in phase 1, rather early on in phase 1, while Will’s been in phase 3 for at least a century. Not only that, Will’s corruption is specifically for the sake of him acting as essentially an avatar to the main BR…. thing
But that’s still mainly attached to the ‘body’ in this case, so with this specific body switch scenerio, Kai’s suddenly forced into that
while Kai’s is just… mainly connected to their glitch mode and not so much being an avatar or anything, but even then phase 1 still has them as mostly themself, so Will in Kai’s body suddenly isn’t under such the huge influence and whims as the corruption in his body is
which must also be Incredibly Freaking Weird since it’s been like an actually super long time since he’s even been anything close to ‘himself’, whatever ‘himself’ even is now. Ironically, in being in someone elses body.
